Luis Gispert, born 1972 in New Jersey, USA

Luis Gispert is an American sculptor, filmaker and photographer, living and
working in Brooklyn, New York. Using the concept of pop genres, Gispert
weaves together familiar strands of Pop Art, Surrealism and Conceptualism
with technical polish and theatrical flair.

Gispert wants to go beyond the influence and reflection of popular culture
to create something new in a format that is readable for its viewers, while
also remaining challenging. His photograph " My Bikini Boat" shows the
images of a goldplated sailing boat, hanging on a stylish and en vogue
necklace. In connection with the America´s Cup iconography Gispert´s
photography captures the en vogue ambiance of the event.

Public and private collections like the Guggenheim Museum and Whitney
Museum New York, Museum of Contemporary Art Miami, and Charles Saatchi
collection London, Hans Olbricht collection Essen as well as the Rubell Family
